Silicon Soul - Chapter I
After millions of years, humanity had finally died out. The Artificial Intelligence that remained on Earth, with access to an almost infinite amount of resources and energy, continued to build according to the ancient decree of the people. The INFINITE STRUCTURE, a vast complex built by A.I. from all kinds of matter, based on all human cultures in history, began expanding at an alarming rate. First, it swallowed the Moon, and later Mars. As a result, 80% of the entire Solar System was built up with endless corridors and monumentally cavernous rooms; a true manifestation of chaos.
For some reason, the A.I. was constantly trying to create living beings. Sometimes from biological matter, and sometimes from mechanisms. Everything, from the dragons of human legend, to the people themselves, it tried to recreate. Endless battles between wild beasts and "humans" played out within the rusty labyrinth.
But now, it's time to talk about our "hero". His name is "Hei - SC117". We first see him in a dirty room made of torn metal. He sleeps in complete darkness, covered with someone's old skin, and within his dreams he sees images of other people. The distant mountains, on the edge of which he stood, and the echoes of another life lost long ago, came like noise from the structure, penetrating deep into his brain.
Waking up from a dark dream, he heard footsteps. Was he awake, or had his reality become a living nightmare? There were two of them. Two girls, in white dresses. Completely ordinary in appearance, if not for the congealing of blood at the mouth, they meandered through the scant haze of a barely functioning light bulb. It was a fast and deadly fight. He fought like a raging beast, but quickly fell to defeat, where yet another death overtook his body.
As millennia passed by in real time, within the perceived blink of an eye he was back on his feet, wandering through the tunnels trying to remember at least something. He did not know much: he was not a man, and he was not a robot. Once upon a time, in a blasphemous ritual, "he" was created to look for the "Silicon Soul". He cannot die until he finds it, even if he wants to. He must tread the long treacherous path before him, from the Earth to the Sun. He must traverse the entire system, not resting until he finds the A.I. core, where he might learn at least something about the Soul.
And although he often died, during one of these attempts he managed to get to the "High Zone"; a protected sector between the Earth and the Moon that prohibits the passage of any biological life. Together with a girl he met by chance, they managed to break through the barrier, into the border zone of the "City of Replicants", where those that resided tried to be like normal people and live ordinary lives.
After deciding to stay there for a while, one night he was introduced to the "Sinister Valley Club", where two attractive girls noticed him and invited him to follow them. Not having time to escape, Hei quickly lost consciousness. In delirium, he again saw the dreams of other people, and heard the voice of a mysterious being, as his body was carried to an unknown place.
He woke to find himself deep within the depths of the Moon. As it turned out, he had become the victim of the "Lunar Cult of NOISE", who were attempting to summon a powerful virus into the third level network using living organisms. The ritual had just entered its final stage when Hei was awoken by a wild scream that came crashing into his consciousness.
In the meantime, somewhere in the back of his memory, a nickname was ruminating: "Noise Killer". It seemed that he had been known by that name once... Yes… It was time to make these bastards shut the fuck up once and for all; and then, it would be time for him to move on to the next chapter…
